We make high quality optical glass filters that mount to your camera lens for film and digital cinematography and photography.
Our Blue Streak Filter effects affordably and easily simulate those created by anamorphic lenses. But we also do something anamorphic lenses cannot do—besides Blue, our Streak Filters come in brilliant Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Violet, and Pink, plus Clear. Our Clear Streak Filters create streaks in the colors of the lighting. And you can combine filters for exciting multi-color effects.
In addition to our Streak Filters we also offer Star Filters that create four-point bursts of light; other pattern configurations are also available.
Optefex Streak Filters and Star Filters are available in our full range of Colors and Clear and are offered in four standard strengths: 1mm (broadest), 2mm, 3mm, and 4mm (finest). These refer to the spacing between the lines on the filter; the closer together they are, the more robust the effect.
Our initial range of standard sizes includes: 3”x3”, 4”x4”, 4”x5.65”, 5”x5”, 5.65”x5.65”, and 6.6”x6.6”, with other square or rectangular sizes available on request. Please check with us soon for new round size introductions.
Optefex filters are designed and manufactured using new technology, while maintaining traditional standards of quality. Our filters are made using optical-grade water white glass. The effects are generated by thin cylindrical lenses embedded in the glass. These refract points of light into the most effective streaking flares available today, whether for strong or subtle effects.
